More than time for a blog post! Today I, whilst I am busy editing photos of new products, I found a couple of commissions I have had recently. Both were based on one of my current designs, but with a twist – I like a good twist!

Firstly, these hot red and silver pearl earrings are based on my cool Celadon design. Kate like the design, but needed something in reds so we came up with these earrings. They are rather hot, don’t you agree?

I used large silver freshwater pearls, Swarovoski Siam beads and gorgeous micro-faceted carnelian.

Another special piece of jewellery which I was delighted to make was the naming necklace for a lovely couple for their second daughter, Marla. It’s so fulfilling to be asked to make something so personal for a family, and to be asked to make a necklace for the newest addition to their family was an honour.

This necklace is based on the Marine bracelet design – full of different blue semi-precious stones and pearls. Mum Stephanie wanted the necklace to compliment, but be different to the necklace I made for her daughter, Briar Rose a couple of years ago. I am really pleased with how it turned out.

I love making commissions, and the chance to make something I often hadn’t thought of myself, but designed by you.ย Please get in touch if you have something you would like me to make just for you.

And now for something new!

Capri necklace and bracelet feature some beautiful turquoise coloured amazonite beads which I have combined with citrine cubes and a tiny amethyst. This particular design suited the silver to be oxidized I thought, and is firmly looking ahead to warm summer days.

Next we have Passion Cubed which are made using some fantastic pyrite cubes I picked up a while ago. Sometimes it takes a while for me to get started on a design when I get new supplies, and this is one of them. Again, oxidized silver seemed to suit, and I used a rolled gold ring to compliment the ‘fool’s gold’, and a faceted amethyst. I will be making some earrings to match in this design, shortly.

I have been secretly building up a new passion for working with brass. Originally, I was never a fan of gold colours, and only ever wore silver. Increasingly in the last couple of years, designs have been popping into my head that use rolled gold, and now there is something about the warm tones of brass that I am really ‘warming’ to. I particularly like the way that brass patinas when you wear it, and I have been searching for solid brass components that I can work with and fit my style. You will be seeing the following designs on my website really soon. In the meantime, let me know what you think about brass – are you a fan?

This is the Plumb Bob Necklace, made from raw brass with a 20inch chain. The pendant is a brass plumb bob weight – so you’ll always be in a straight line!
