B.C.T.F Some favourite jewellery designers…

8th April 2009 4 Comments

As promised, I am back to show some of the designers whose work I really loved when I went to the B.C.T.F on Sunday. It’s mostly jewellery, but then I’m mostly a jewellery girl, what can I say!

Alison Macleod – Inspired by junk shops and a love of Victorian keepsakes, Alison’s collection and colour palette is fantastic.

Lorna Henderson – Lorna was the first person I spoke to, and we had a great chat about semi-precious stones, colours etc. We found we are really inspired to use very similar colour palettes, although our jewellery is very different in style. It’s not surprising I love her work!

Heather Shaw – I just found out when I visited her website that Heather is actually based in Huddersfield, just down the road! She is currently producing 3 ranges of jewellery: entwined, classic and quirky. I particularly like the casual whimsical nature of the quirky range, take a peak:

Alexis Dove – Alexis Dove works with Justin Small, and together have created a varied and inspirational collection of jewellery: wild rose, kali, little hearts, beachcomber, buddha, belle, tv series, lafayette and charms. Working in silver, and both 18ct and 22ct gold with a muted palette I adore. They also use a lot of prehnite, my favourite stone. This bracelet from the wild rose collection is today’s favourite….ask me tomorrow, and it’ll be a different one!

Miranda Hughes – Miranda uses a range of vintage found objects to create 6 ranges of individual jewellery pieces: antique tins, collections, retro treasures, vintage postcards, labels and memento. It is her ‘retro treasures’ range that really speaks to me, a combination of old typewriter keys with red and teal stones. See what I mean?
