Near to my house, is a walled path that we have enjoyed walking down occasionally since the kids were tiny. The last 2 years of having Dexter dog means that it has now become a regular route for me, almost daily at times, and certainly weekly. It’s an old pedestrian roadway from our industrial past, I think, and always feels magical to me.

Recently when out walking, the kids have taken to naming our favourite local paths in the woods, but I came up with my own for this treasured way – Foxglove Avenue.

I knew I had blogged about the foxgloves that grow there before, and was delighted to find my old post ‘In love with the foxglove’ it’s from 2010! Do take a look, and be sure to scroll down to the photos of my little ones, then aged only 7 and 4. Now, as you can see from my photos this week (above), it’s more often the dog than the children that joins me. I’m a little sad about that, they are growing up so fast!

As we entered a pretty grotty weekend weather-wise, I’m really glad I took these photos last week. I still feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful place, even after 16 years.
