bespoke day dream necklace

Here’s a commission that went out last week. I used some beautiful stones for this simple jewellery set, called Day Dream; pink opal, aquamarine, prehnite and muscovite. The prehnite is veined with black threads, and this strand of muscovite is the first I have heard of or used (I’ve had it for a while, but it’s been in my ‘save’ stash) with a gorgeous taupe/chocolate/maroon colour. I’m looking forward to creating some new versions of my stacking gemstone jewellery, and this could be one of them.

I have one more commission to make and get out of the door before the last post on Friday, and am very busy making and packing my last orders. All the free earrings went with last week’s orders (22 pairs!) and I made 15 more pairs to go with orders until this week when I just got TOO busy, so regrettably they are finished.

I’ve had great success with a new collection on the website with ‘in stock’ items. Not sure why I didn’t think of it before! It is a great idea for people getting nervous things arriving in time for Christmas, as the jewellery just needs a little careful packaging, and off it goes! I will definitely do that again next year.

There are still new pieces of jewellery that didn’t make it onto the website in time for Christmas, so they will be going on in the New Year. I will not be posting any jewellery from 20th December to 6th January, when I’ll be having a well earned rest with my family. For the rest of January I will be having a 2 week dispatch time as I am taking extended time to PROPERLY sort our house (finally, after all those renovations, I am doing all filing, storage, spring cleaning, tidying and accounts), and taking a long look at my business including my plans and forecasting for 2014. Maybe I will find that time to get out and about with my camera and catch up on reading. Yes, reading… that would be nice!

There is another reason for the longer dispatch times in January – we are also getting a new labrador puppy over the Christmas break – Dexter! As he will be just a baby, he’s going to need lots of attention – poor me! Here he is when we visited him last week.
