I’m back this week from the Country Living Fair in Harrogate, I had a fantastic time!
I’ve not done a big retail fair such as this before, and I have to admit to a lot of nerves and worry about whether I could carry it off, if I’m honest. But I did!
I don’t think I would have managed it if I hadn’t moved upstairs to my new loft workspace, I had things laid out all over the floor and mocked up the stand before I went. My tiny house would never have accommodated all that.
Props laid out.
Mocking up the layout.
Setting up at the show.
Nearly there …
I was really pleased with how this turned out, but more lighting would be a good idea next time.
As you can see, it got very busy, and my little stand got rather swamped over there!
I need a wider stand next time, being on a corner (albeit a prominent one) meant that not many people could get in to view the jewellery. I did have 1000 flyers printed which I could hand out to people who couldn’t see, but it would be better if they could get in to see the stand!
I met some fantastic customers and exhibitors, everyone was really friendly and genuinely interested in my jewellery. It doesn’t do me any harm to get lovely comments and compliments about my work (or maybe it does!) and I got plenty of sales, too.
I’m now waiting to see how many of the Harrogate visitors have noticed the exclusive 15% money off code for my website in January … watch this space!
