It’s all new around here, in fact I’ve been really busy and this is why the blog posts have been rather infrequent. Here’s why:

I’m busy stocking up my galleries at the moment, I have some new stockists, and some new jewellery at some of my favourite galleries (everything should be in during the next week).

Here’s where you can find my work this Christmas:

Heart Gallery, Hebden Bridge
Arteria Gallery, Lancaster
Ferrers Gallery, Staunton Harold, Ashby De La Zouch
Shire Hall Gallery, Stafford

I also have a new online stockist – Gifts by Donna

There are some others in the pipeline, too – watch this space!

I have also been busy finally moving my workspace, from my very cramped and tiny spare bedroom I blogged about here to our newly converted loft space. Having got the house re-roofed 18 months ago, it’s been a constant juggling between my work, Gary working in the loft to get it finished (he’s done all the inside work himself, apart from plastering) and then me trying to get it decorated whilst staying on top of my workload over the summer.

Well, finally this week, although it’s not quite finished I am up there working in the space, what a relief! It’s been really stressful, to be honest, and our weekends have not been our own for a very long time. With this new expanded space I can finally organise myself better, not something that come naturally to me, but the old room was just to small to accommodate all my materials and beads, and I only had a deskspace of 50cm squared to make all my jewellery in and use the laptop too!

Gary has even built me a desk using up the old chipboard floor and some lack shelves from the tiny office – so it’s free. I like free :)

Finally, I will also be able to install a proper jewellery workshop so that I can start making rings and other silver smithing, I can’t wait.

Just look at my views!

Another new thing in our lives is a new school for my boy. This isn’t the space to go into detail about what has been going on, surfice to say that since Easter time things have not been going well with his school and it has been incredibly upsetting and stressful for all of us. The fallout is immense, and we took the reluctant decision to move his school just a few weeks ago. He has now started another local school and things have been better for everyone. The only reason I mention it here is the effect it has had on my work the last 7 months. All I can say is that I’ve discovered that my creativity comes from a place of happiness, not stress, I am no tortured Van Gough producing my best work! My focus on my business has suffered, and new designs have not been forthcoming until this last couple of weeks when I finally felt things were looking up again.

So, I do have a new collection (finally) which I am pleased with and am really looking forward to making more new designs over the next few weeks.

Here’s a little taster:

I hope you like what you see!
