Probably the worst kept secret ever, but I have been dying to share this with your for weeks! I was invited by Claire Humpherson from Beadsdirect.co.uk a few weeks ago to design a bracelet for a blog feature.

I really enjoyed pouring through their website picking whatever I liked to create my own design from scratch – well, I was like a kid in a sweetshop to be honest.

As part of the feature I was also interviewed for theย Beadsdirect blog!

Here’s a picture of the beads I chose for my casual summer design:

BEADS I CHOSE

Here is what I selected:

beads chosen from beadsdirect

I just love the contrast of the red imitation coral with the chrysotine greens and white agate squares. I broke up those contrasting colours by using tiny faceted hematite beads in between all the other beads, and used a sterling silver toggle for the fastening. Definitely a casual summer design, I think.

Here’s what I handmade:

Do let me know if you have been inspired to make something totally new today :)
