You know I’m an aquarian born in February, well it’s just as well because my favourite stone is amethyst. I haven’t tended to use that much in my designs mainly because I could get carried away very easily, and not everyone is passionate about purple.

That’s changed today as I am editing the pictures on my new design using wonderful rustic pale amethyst briolettes. I have used tiny pyrite beads and oxidized the silver to finish off the look. More pictures to come, and a name too!

Purple is actually very versatile, and popular with women of all ages, without looking dated or out of fashion. I sound like I am on a campaign for more purple. Well maybe I am…

    Thanks Deb!
Really interesting to find out about amethyst's properties, and you've given me the inspiration for the name – they are now called 'Dream Catcher'

Those amethyst briolettes are stunning and your designs are gorgeous. I know what you mean about purple not being popular but I love it.
Amethyst is also said to help stop bad dreams if you sleep with it under your pillow :-)
